The rules for providing medical care to foreign citizens in the Russian Federation have been approved
The Government of the Russian Federation has approved the rules for providing medical care to foreign citizens in the Russian Federation, in accordance with the Resolution of 08.05.2025 No. 631.

The resolution will come into force on September 1st, 2025, the rules will be valid until September 1st, 2031.

Emergency medical care for sudden acute illnesses, conditions, exacerbation of chronic diseases that pose a threat to the patient's life is provided to foreign citizens by medical organizations free of charge.
In addition, free assistance will be provided for illnesses, accidents, injuries, poisoning and other conditions requiring urgent medical intervention. With the exception of these situations, emergency and planned medical care is provided to foreigners in accordance with agreements on the provision of paid medical services, voluntary health insurance and compulsory health insurance.

Foreigners who are insured persons in accordance with the law "On Compulsory Medical Insurance" have the right to free assistance within the framework of the compulsory medical insurance, unless otherwise provided by the approved rules.

If an international agreement establishes a different procedure for providing medical assistance to foreign citizens, the rules of this agreement shall apply.
