A new law has been approved that simplifies the provision of certain categories of foreigners and stateless persons with a temporary residence permit and a permanent residence permit in Russia
Dear clients, we inform you that the President of the Russian Federation has signed a law simplifying the provision of certain categories of foreigners and stateless persons with a permit for temporary residence and obtaining a residence permit in Russia. The law comes into force on 01/01/2019.
Without taking into account the government quota, temporary residence permits will be received, in particular, by citizens of Ukraine recognized as refugees in Russia.
In addition, the procedure for granting temporary residence permits and residence permits to those who speak Russian and intend to work in the Russian Federation is being simplified.
Without quotas, TRP can be obtained by persons who have entered the military service, who are participants in the state program to help resettle compatriots, and who are citizens of the states that were part of the USSR and who received vocational education in an educational organization located on the territory of the Russian Federation.
The law establishes a reduced time for consideration of applications for issuing temporary residence permits - from six to four months.
In addition, the circle of foreigners who can obtain a residence permit is significantly expanded, by skipping the stage of a temporary residence permit.
These are natives of the RSFSR and citizenship of the USSR, children born on the territory of the Russian Federation and adopted by foreigners who permanently reside on the territory of the Russian Federation, foreign citizens who themselves or their relatives in a direct ascending line were deported from the territory of the Crimean ASSR.
Also, a residence permit without obtaining a temporary residence permit can be obtained by qualified specialists who have worked in Russia for at least six months, as well as members of their families.
A residence permit will be issued indefinitely instead of the current five years. The exception will be for highly qualified specialists (status is issued for the duration of the labor contract), as well as certain categories of qualified specialists. The state duty on a residence permit will increase to 5,000 rubles (instead of 3,500 rubles).
The residence permit document must be replaced - if the foreign citizen reaches the age of 14 years, 20 years and 45 years. For more details please contact our lawyers.
