Dear clients, we inform you that the period of work necessary to receive Russian citizenship by foreign qualified specialists has been reduced.
At present, foreign citizens and stateless persons who have worked in our country for at least three years prior to the day of filing the application as definite professions can apply for Russian citizenship in a simplified manner. Such a simplified procedure - without observing the terms of residence - is provided only for certain professions, the List of which is approved by the Ministry of Labor of Russia.
Signed by the President of the Russian Federation Federal Law of July 3, 2019 No. 165-FZ «On Amending Article 14 of the Federal Law «On Citizenship of the Russian Federation», it was decided to reduce the specified period of employment from three years to one year. The corresponding amendment will come into force from October 2, 2019/
